“When coexistence in the environment is the best way to protect the environment. coexistence in harmony benefit each other, learn and understand.”
Today’s world is facing environmental problems and effects from overall climate crisis. Accordingly, The Sustainable Mangrove Management and Coastal Ecosystem Development in Phetchaburi Province project aims to support the capacity of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) in developing a Sustainable Mangrove Management and Coastal Ecosystem Master Plan. The Master Plan will sustain socio-economic and bio-diverse ecosystems in Phetchaburi Province. An overall key activity includes:
1) develop the ‘Master Plan for Sustainable Mangrove Management and Coastal Ecosystem Development in Phetchaburi Province’
2) develop an ‘Urban Mangrove Forest Showcase’ that demonstrates the benefits of mangroves for improving livelihoods of local communities
3)stimulate a better understanding of long term environmental, social and economic returns from mangrove conservation investments through the use of the Social Return on Investment (SROI) framework.
Overall, the Master Plan will showcase support for the conservation of biodiversity rich mangrove ecosystems, as well as being inclusive and equitable to social and economic development for the surrounding dependent communities in Phetchaburi, and the finance mechanism will be used to support the project implementation.
